Patrick versus brain tumour. Patrick wins.
My friend Patrick was diagnosed this past December with a golf ball-sized tumour attached to the meninges surrounding his brain. The laceration and stitching is a result of a radically invasive surgical procedure called a craniotomy. Blindness and death were strong possibilities. Fortunately, the tumour was removed and aside from a large headache, Patrick is doing well. The photo was taken three days after the surgery. It’s not until someone, either family or friend, becomes gravely ill that you realise how important they are to you and your life. That’s something you can’t put a price on. Life is beyond price.
