Friday 13th July
Stop trying to fit in, you were born to stand out.
Style is ageless, genderless and genre-less. This week we interviewed Ari Seth Cohen about his blog Advanced Style, now a hardback book, featuring street shots of enviably, inimitably stylish women over 60, including one centenarian with some revolutionary views on lipstick. Forever stomping the path for individual style, cross-dressing British artist Grayson Perry told us, "I like to see young people making an effort to stand out", i-N Conversation about his very own module at Central Saint Martins. Then in the penultimate edition of i-Sustain, we consider style as philosophy and how to change our buying patterns for the ethical green good of mankind. Fixed up Theophilus London got quizzed on tube lines and London hangouts (his favourite is Nandos) and dapper Maccabees front man Orlando Weeks talked childhood memories and band style. And last night we spent five hours in an awe-sweat watching DJ's Nicole Moudaber, Eliphino, Shox, Marco del Horno and Last Japan style it out on the decks at #iDMIX, where i-D's Milly McMahon premiered the July Mixtape. If you've an eye for it, style is everywhere you look, however you look. (We think you should look on Facebook, Twitter,
Tumblr, YouTube and SoundCloud)
