only boring people are bored

The first person to ever collaborate with GUESS BY MARCIANO, Swedish golden girl and blogging sensation ELIN KLING proudly announces the launch of her debut capsule collection, Elin Kling for Marciano. Filmaker Joe Cohen was in New York for the launch, camera in hand…

Originally appeared in The Wise Up Issue, Winter 2012.

Referencing iconic pieces taken from the Guess archive and peppering her collection with a modern twist, cosmopolitan creative Elin Kling perfectly blends contemporary trends with classic glamour for her first foray in the world of fashion design. The Style by Kling blog author’s effortlessly slick and sexy way of wearing clothes has inspired her polished capsule collection, which is accessible but feels luxurious. ‘The Guess by Marciano woman does what she wants and she enjoys it,” Elin explains. “That’s why I’m proud of being a Guess girl.” Launching in stores internationally this month, Elin is also the stunning face of the campaign, which was shot by Hunter and Gatti in the deserts of the Joshua Tree, California. Here, she lets i-D in on her fashionable life.

What was the last song you listened to on your iPod?
Needy Girl by Chromeo. This song from my very mixed Spotify playlist became my get-some-energy-and-get-ready-for-dinner-song during Paris fashion week.
What was the last text message you sent?
I reminded my boyfriend to tell me that he loves me! He always needs to text me before I fly. I’m about to board a flight from Paris to New York as we speak.
What are the essential items in your make-up bag?
I love creamy make-up. I think everything is about glow. I don’t get these matte products. Cream foundation, cream blush, cream eye shadow.
What will you never leave the house without?
This might be the most boring answer in i-D history, but my iPhone. I don’t like to talk though. Just email and text, I’m addicted to email.
What advice would you pass on to aspiring fashion bloggers?
Enjoy yourself, but also think for longer than a picture outside a show. Use the power of your traffic.
