Stone Island started in 1982 – its badge an explorer’s compass, its name inspired by Heart Of Darkness author Joseph Conrad and intended to inspire excitement and adventure – and this year it’s celebrating its 30th anniversary. Happy birthday Stone Island! The Italian fashion futurists are celebrating in Florence with a vast exhibition over 2,500 square metres of the Leopolda, Italy’s oldest railway station, where they’re showing their historical archive alongside three special pieces: the 30/30, the Reflective Knit and the Tela Stella. Styled by i-D Consultant Fashion Director Simon Foxton, take a glimpse at Stone Island’s colossal archive here and pick up a copy The Lights, Camera, Action Issue right here for plenty more.
