RICHARD NICOLL is the handsome and talented designer whose clothes starred on the cover of i-D in 2009, worn by artist Linder Sterling, shot by photographer Tim Walker. In the past few seasons, Richard’s collections have established him as one of the most exciting designers working in London, as his vision of femininity has grown more artful and considered. Richard’s women are confident enough to wear a sexy little cocktail dress as they are a suit, and they spit out Plath and Pinter, between spending their time at galleries, cocktail bars or local tranny dive bars.
First appearance in i-D? It was a straight up shot ages ago. Favourite i-D cover? The Linder Sterling cover. Best birthday ever? My last birthday was a belated 30th dinner with friends which was ace. Most like to see on the cover of i-D? I was happy with Linder but maybe… Best thing about the noughties? The end of them. Hopes for the new decade? I’ll take it as it comes.
