Born in Germany, Timur Celikdag moved to London in 1999 to assist German photographer and filmmaker Norbert Schoerner, where he remained until 2002. In 2003, Timur met i-D’s Terry Jones at the Festival International des Arts de la Mode, where he won the top photography prize with his ‘Istanbul’ series. Timur’s first contribution to i-D was a portrait of the musical duo MU on London Bridge. It was to spark a long-lasting relationship with i-D that continues to this day.
