Mark Lebon

Mark Lebon’s work for i-D spans three decades. Between 1984 and 1992, he shot a total of thirteen covers for the magazine, the first of which was Madonna for The Sexsense Issue in May 1984. He studied at West Surrey College of Art and Design and North East London Polytechnic and went on to produce memorable fashion editorial for magazines including i-D, The Face, Arena, Blitz, British Vogue, Tempo and Harper’s and Queen. Lebon was a key player in the ‘Buffalo’ aesthetic spearheaded by stylist, Ray Petri in the ‘80s. Lebon has created commercial campaigns for many clients including Katharine Hamnett, John Galliano, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Bodymap and Vivienne Westwood. In the mid ‘80s, he founded Crunch Productions Ltd, a company specialising in fashion, advertising, broadcasting and music promotion. Lebon has two sons, Tyrone and Frank.
