Paris-based Marie Chaix is one of the world’s most sought-after stylists, known for her character, charm and unpretentious take on glamour. Born in Strasbourg, France, she moved to London to study at Central Saint Martins before working at Self Service magazine. Her first contribution to i-D was part of The Health Issue, August 2006, in collaboration with “monsieur Magnus Unnar and a giant trampoline,” she tells. “It was about elasticity and strength of the body, with an obsession for stretch jersey and Jean-Paul Goude’s Kodak characters. Julia Stegner showed an amazing endurance on the trampoline, and did not fall over once.” Now a Senior Fashion Editor-at-Large for Self Service as well as being contributing fashion editor to Acne Paper and i-D, she has worked with photographers including Sølve Sundsbø, Daniel Jackson, Hans Feurer, Richard Burbridge and Glen Luchford. Chaix’s touch has been felt in a number of international fashion publications, including Vogue Paris, Vogue Russia and AnOther, as well as through campaigns for Proenza Schouler and Benetton.
