“I sometimes think I’m too shy for my job”. Lara Stone in The God’s Gift Issue, 2008.
Lara Stone has single handedly changed the shape of fashion with her womanly curves and Brigitte Bardot sex appeal. Born in 1983 in Holland, Lara was discovered aged 14 on the Paris Metro whilst holidaying with her family. Winking on the cover of i-D five times to date, three photographed by her close friend Alasdair McLellan, one by David Bailey and most recently by Daniele + Iango, with Fashion Direction from Charlotte Stockdale, Lara has also been shot for French, Italian, British and Japanese Vogue, Self Service, W, V and Numéro. In 2010 she became the face of Calvin Klein, following in the footsteps of Christy Turlington, Kate Moss and Natalia Vodianova. The same year she married comedian David Walliams in London.
