Joe Cohen trained in drama at the National Youth Theatre and the University of Bristol before starting a career in filmmaking, working as a freelance camera operator and subsequently for a range of independent production companies in development for documentaries. In 2010 he gained an MA at the National Film and Television School, during which his films were shown at the ICA, nominated for the Rushes Shorts Documentary Award, London Short Film Festival, Reelout Canada and the British Council Film Festival, Moscow. Since graduating he has been a regular film contributor for i-D and has produced and directed films for a number of clients including i-D, Pringle of Scotland, The Old Vic Theatre, The Red Cross and ORBIS International.
