Hattie Collins

As i-D’s Music Editor, Hattie Collins interrogates icons such as Lady Gaga, Rihanna and Kanye West on a regular basis, but first showed her love for music during university as a radio and club DJ – “despite not being able to mix”, she says. Beginning her career scribbling for Hip Hop Connection nine years ago, she’s one of the UK’s most knowledgeable commentators on rap, R&B, grime, dancehall, pop and all that’s in between, and has contributed to The Guardian, Q, NME, Vibe, XXL, The Sunday Times Culture, and RWD magazine, where she is currently editor. An inveterate blogger, Hattie has been accused of being a Twitter addict – a charge she flatly denies. Judge for yourself at twitter.com/hattiecollins and hattiecollins.com.
