Gary Card is an illustrator, prop-maker and set designer whose first collaboration with i-D came in the shape of scary monsters and super creeps fashioned for a Cassetteplaya fashion story. Originally from Bournemouth but now living and working in London, his bold, brightly-coloured and intricate designs feature in collaborations with Comme des Garçons, Dover Street Market, the New York Times and Swatch. And he can also be seen throwing shapes for Nick Knight’s Portraits series. Launched in 2009, Gary’s popular, idiosyncratic blog garycardiology.blogspot.com is an online sketchbook serving as a window into his enthusiasms and the way they shape his creative process.
