Elgar is i-D’s Fashion Editor. Born in Peterborough, the young Elgar left school to work for his Dad’s heavy haulage company before gear-changing to modeling for seven years until he was ‘adopted by Simon Foxton’ and welcomed into his new family of Simon, Jonathan Kaye and Jason Evans. Football obsessed, Elgar can be found on the terrace of his beloved Liverpool FC most weekends; a love that shows no boundaries with the Liverpool crest tattooed on his left leg. A sports fan through and through, Elgar lists among his hobbies, ‘watching sport, apart from golf which is boring’. He shows tendencies toward OCD when it comes to cleaning and enjoys a good singalong at karaoke bars at the weekend. The all-singing-all-kick ups Elgar started his career at i-D after ‘a meeting with Terry and Tricia in their very nice kitchen.’ He cites his inspiration as ‘my mum, dad, Simon, Peterborough, trucks, sport, both sisters (Vanessa and our Julie), London, tattoos, rough folk, posh people, Ray Petri and Andy Capp.’
