Photographer Ekua King lives in North London and co-owns Puerita Hair and Beauty Salon on Stoke Newington High Street which is named after her grandmother. She graduated from the London College of Fashion in 2008 deciding that photography was the career that she wanted to pursue. Ekua interned with i-D for two months and after an encouraging conversation with Terry Jones, she started to work on a personal project shooting trainer collections of some of the sneaker-heads she had met whilst working part time at Reebok in Covent Garden. i-D loved her story and printed it in the following issue. She continues to contribute to i-D as well as ASOS and RWD magazines. This summer you can find her in Jamaica visiting her family, a trip she looks forwards to every year.
