Daniele Duella + Iango Henzi’s sexually charged photographs show an attention to the detail of fashion and to the depths of transgressive emotion. Their shoot with Kristen McMenamy for i-D’s The Define Yourself Issue typifies this fierce confidence, adding to a rapidly developing and very idiosyncratic aesthetic. Daniele, who picked up her first camera at the age of 13, enticed former classical dancer Iango to join him in a pas de deux behind the lens. Light plays a significant role in determining their composition style adding depth and drama to their images. Despite this classic approach to their working style, Daniele + Iango’s photos remain undisputedly contemporary.
