Collier Schorr

Collier Schorr was born and raised in Brooklyn. Her iconic images examine established ideas of gender, youth and identity referencing such diverse topics as Nazi ideals and wrestling. Attending the School of Visual Arts in 80s New York, Schorr went on to build an impressive catalogue of exhibitions and extensive bibliography. Her work has been displayed in many notable institutions including the Museum of Modern Art in New York and Guggenheim, Berlin. As well as i-D, Schorr’s editorial contributions include shoots for Vogue Hommes International and Purple. The nature of her work made her the perfect choice to shoot androgynous Brazilian model Caio Vaz for the cover of The We Got Issues Issue of i-D in February 2007. Collier also had a retrospective at London based gallery Modern Art in 2010.
