Belfast-born and bred stylist Alastair McKimm is known for his spirited take on urban glamour, inspired by the codes of British youth tribes. He is a much-valued contributing Fashion Editor of i-D. After graduating with a degree in fashion, i-D gave Alastair his big break as an assistant in 2000 – something he puts down (modestly) to “Irish luck”. Today, he is based in New York and aside from shooting for i-D, V and US Harper’s Bazaar occupies authority as Fashion Director of The Last Magazine. Alastair’s cool, aspirational aesthetic has been realised in collaboration with photographers such as Daniel Jackson, Dan Martensen, Lachlan Bailey and Amy Troost; with Paradis Garage in November 2007’s The !#*? Issue as one of his standout contributions for its sport-gothic transformation of Mariacarla Boscono. Runway collections styled by Alastair include Ohne Titel, Graeme Armour and Todd Lynn.
