For autumn/winter 13, Stella McCartney proved her credentials once again with a workwear related collection for the modern woman. The focus was on pin stripes. Big, fat, narrow, small… They worked their way hypnotically around blazers, dresses and coats in varying frequencies. Favourite pieces included a pleated pin stripe puffa jacket with giant hood, and a pin stripe wool sweater that extended down below the waist into a ruched pin stripe cotton dress. There were round-shouldered coats in fuzzy grey felt, bomber jackets in soft grey check and elegant dresses that started out as sweaters before descending into lace to create a cosy sort of glamour. Pin stripes returned for evening in the form of cocktail dresses and sleeveless suits, offering the perfect attire to carry you from the boardroom to the bar. Sharp, sleek and straight to the point, they were the perfect end to another collection guaranteed to fly off the shelves.
