Ready to wear and ready for the winter that we don’t seem to be escaping from anytime soon, the Isabel Marant girl is cosying up to her boy-band boyfriend and piling on the layers in preparation for autumn/winter 13. Rock ‘n’ roll studs embellish black mini-skirts while long sleeve mesh tops are worn over black wife-beaters to give us the girl we wouldn’t be surprised to see walking down the street, arm in arm with one of Hedi Slimane’s boy-band models. Moving away from the distinct themes of her last shows (a couple of Hawaii-beach and Americana affairs) she’s gone for a simpler look with smarter tailoring. Jumpers came cropped and ribbed, femininity came with the subtlest of peplums and sweetheart necklines and everything was worn with the kind of leggings every girl steps into as soon as she can kick off her heels. Cool and comfortable are the taglines of the show with bedhead hair and a moody thrown together vibe that only a Parisian can pull off with such panache.
