Lost in transition is what Hakaan Yildirim became (fashion) headline news for last season when his collection disappeared somewhere between Turkey and Paris. Having missed out last time, he wasn’t about to let this season slip by without being talked about, but this time for all the right reasons. The Hakaan autumn/winter 13 girl was black, white and red all over, a contemporary gothic biker-chick who manages to keep her windswept tresses sexy with a matted side-parting. Dresses only came in extremes; floor-length or thigh-skimming, long-sleeved or slips and a recurring theme of matt or shiny, sometimes both. Looking tanned and toned, with skin-colour pouts, girls rocked wonder-bustiers, pleated mini’s and see-through organza slacks. Sticking to the modern-minimalism with superior cutting that Hakaan made his name with, it was a well-fitting and well-fitted affair!
