Fresh from his technologic fashion experiment with i-D Fashion Director Charlotte Stockdale shooting Karmen Pedaru on thermal camera, phone and hasselblad for The Alphabetical Issue, Daniel Sannwald continues to bewilder and leave us daydreaming of an alternate reality by delving in to the unknown with Delfina Delettrez. Looking to otherworldly and alien phenomena, Delettrez’s autumn/winter 13 collection explores the extraterrestrial and Sannwald teleports the trinkets and geometric gems to a gleaming 3-D parallel universe, where the Magic Triangle collection is suspended in reflective motion. Delving back in to our dimension, Sannwald explains the film’s concept and tells us whether or not there’s anything else out there.

Where did the concept of the film come from? I am a big fan of Delfina’s work and vision. Our visual world’s are very close and we are both driven by surrealistic ideas. I wanted to take her collection on a journey out side of time and space.

Describe the Delfina Delettrez AW13 collection in 5 words. A beautiful surrealistic dark universe.

Describe the film in 5 words. Outside of time and space.

Delettrez’ collection was inspired by the lights and mystery of UFOs and other alien objects in the sky. Are we alone? What do you think is out there? Let me respond with images rather then with words…

The film presents the collection in a surreal landscape and explores a gleaming 3-D parallel dimension. Could you tell us a little about the processes and techniques involved in its creations? I worked together with my wonderful team at Studio Private and a new addition to the team, Alejandro Ghersi, who delivered the beautiful score to that video. It was a very short turn around and I am so happy that I could motivate everyone to put so much energy into this project. We are all very pleased with the result! We hope you enjoy it too!

Finally, if you could transport yourself to another dimension, what would it look like, what would be there, who would be with you? I am a man of longings so I would definitely take the person that I love with me. I would transport us to a place where we can evolve our feelings into something even higher and deeper then is possible here on earth.
