With barely any dialogue, Terrence Malick’s latest feature To The Wonder (in cinemas now) relies on beautiful imagery and artistic expression. Following on from his similarly sculptural, natural landscape epic Tree of Life, the film concentrates on the human connection to the earth. To celebrate the release, i-D interviewed lead actress Olga Kurylenko last week, and partnered with Studiocanal in a competition, asking the visually intelligent customers of Picturehouse Cinemas and Malick fans to submit a photograph that inspired their ‘sense of wonder’. Here we present the 10 shortlisted entries, including the winner, Edward Fairhead (top image), who will receive a Nikon Coolpix camera, to capture hundreds more beautiful moments.
