Simone Rocha wears her heart on her entire collection and not just her sleeve. Watching her develop over the past few seasons has been like a very special glimpse into her youth, her family and her Chinese and Irish heritage. All things which she holds so dearly. Last season was all about youth and teenage naivety, this season Rocha looked to her Irish and Chinese Grandmothers for inspiration. However, the naivety of last season’s girl was not lost, there was almost a sense of a little girl playing dress up in her very stylish Grandmother’s clothes. Granny chic was combined with girly glamour with leopard print fur and voluminous skirts and Rocha’s signature asymmetrical frills. Rocha also managed to inject the best of her masculine tailoring with button up dress shirts and slouchy trousers. Accessories were again key; this time Rocha added knitted cat eye glasses, granny bags and glitter slippers. Already Simone Rocha’s collection has an incredibly strong identity. In a few short seasons she has developed a strong recognisable brand. It is truly a pleasure each season to watch as Simone Rocha allows us to take a glimpse into her world as she shares her extraordinary talent and love for clothes.
