In the austere concrete drama of The Tanks at Tate Modern, the epic journey of Edward Meadham and Benjamin Kirchhoff continues apace… my lady is Blanche Du Bois with a touch of Death In Venice. She’s dressed in sumptuous black velvet cascading to the floor edged with delicate lace, contrasting latex detail and pure virginal frills in crisply starched cotton. She wafts into a room in taupe chiffon and gold Louis heeled slippers, holding her head high, prim and proper with an elegance all of her own. What a lovely vision she is and I for one want to wear it all. The attention to detail is overwhelming, Meadham Kirchhoff bring the romance back into fashion with a melancholic drama I adore.
