Today saw Marta Marques and Paulo Almeida continue their love affair with all things 90′s. Confidently evolving their sophisticated take on grunge they combined baggy skater silhouettes in raw silk with lean layered pony hair, whilst also managing to make triple frayed denim look like a very viable option for autumn/winter 13. As usual, denim came heavily reworked, ripped and slashed with trousers dragging at the ankle (circa The Camden Ballroom 1996) slit at the bottom to make them flare. Clompy shoes, heavy eyeliner and tousled hair set off luxe parkas with fur trim and elaborate biker jackets came with inserts of navy, maroon and zebra print pony. They even tackled evening wear showing ballooning baggy trousers, making sure to combine it with zipped denim and savage unfinished animal skins to keep their street edge. A seriously good show from London Fashion Week’s newest stars!
