Enthusiastic like a puppy and completely comfortable in his own skin, the 23 year old zodiac dresses loud and likes attention. Rewriting the dictionary with his self-coined, crazy sick slogans, Joey Essex has quickly become an mainstream cultural influencer of trend. Now the proud owner of bespoke men’s fashion boutique, Fusey, located down Brentwood, the multi-talented fashion buyer, model, reality TV star, event organizer and all round entrepreneur Joey Essex chats to i-D about how his life has changed since he became famous, whilst grooming duo Danielle and Nicole Kahlani explain how to get that signature Essex look.
Hair
1. Saturate the hair entirely in a light preparation spray, then apply a thickening spray to roots and work product through the hair.
2. Spritz a light covering of texturizing spray over the top layer of the hair for a matte texture and natural wave.
3. Blow-dry hair back with a small round brush.
4. Work a texturing cream through the hair from root to tip using only fingers.
6: Finish the look with Bumble and Bumble Sumo Tech Wax, working product through thoroughly and being sure to break up any build up.
7: Set the hair with, a light mist of hair spray.
Make up
1: Clean the skin using a deep facial cleansing wash, followed by a rich moisturising cream.
2: Spray tan. An essential for the trademark Essex look. Apply a light mist of Fake Bake, evenly over the face, blending well with a buffing brush.
3: Blend Lip Revive by Elemis into the lips for hydrating look with matte finish.
