The Brewer Street car park, up to level 4 and we enter the cavernous docking bay lined with a rather inventive use of a beige swirly patterned carpet for a catwalk that sweeps up towards the ceiling. It creates a comforting backdrop for a collection that indeed references House of Holland’s 1989 2nd ‘Summer of Love’ theme with an OAP twist. Dancing on the carpet at yer mum’s house, models parade to a soundtrack created by S. Express-er Mark Moore, very suitable indeed… it’s all a glitzy fash clash – note the desirable earrings in the shape of cocktail glasses, embellishments of jewelled fags complete with a puff of smoke, pills and whatnot sparkle on various tops. Frocks come in the form of psych prints, looking like they really are made from Nana’s curtains, tangerine and green fitted numbers with bra detail belted with contrasting tortoiseshell brown patent leather neon accented belts. There’s a lovely silver ‘foil’ number with a peter pan collar and voluminous skirt, a navy jersey floor length body hugging dress with a neon zip up the front, Holland keeps it sexy and prettified with accessories. Hooded puffa jackets come in a shimmering muted emerald green, off pink shearling panels on bombers, we’re keeping warm this winter and that swirly patterned knitwear is hitting the spot. It’s a flirtatious collection with cute touches, thoroughly wantable and wearable – on that note I think I might be hot footing it round to Henry Holland’s place for a cup of tea and personal order quite soon.
