Whereas last season took inspiration from the relentless optimism of sun kissed days in Los Angeles, for autumn/winter 13 Holly Fulton kept her shades on as the sunset lit up the venue and whisked us off for a night of debauchery. Prowling pavements, skipping queues, strutting scenes and peacocking through smoke plumes on dance floors, the dazzling design talent led us on a whistle stop tour of her favourite after-hours haunts. This was the chase of a groupie and, if we weren’t all ready, we all become one of Holly’s by the frenetic finale. With a tantalising trio of seductive temptress Beatrice Dalle, flame haired vixen Poison Ivy and guitar wielding Gaye Advert combine as this season’s muses, Fulton cut and pasted Escher-esque geometric prints, photo realist Tiger faces, pop-art lipsticks, digital birds and lilies intertwined through fences, and so much more besides to create her own kaleidoscope of print. Glamming things up further, Holly’s mind altering uniforms of the night were embellished further with punctured resin love tokens, sequined feathers and pearls. This was a collection to love.
