A flicker book invitation featuring an F for fabulous lady with a huge white feather boa dancing for our entertainment set the tone of Dean and Dan’s DSqaured show. Opening with a Jazz club set, complete with 40s looking piano players and our feather boa lady, the models swagged down the catwalk with gangster attitude; Cara Delevingne fluttering her hand like a rude girl. Playing with ideas of masculinity and femininity, the girls alternated between pimps – wearing high set trilbies, double breasted suits and fat ties – and their ladies – wearing ultra glamorous silk gowns, fur stoles, cigarette holders and plenty of bling. The more wearable pieces were 40s suits in powder pink and pale olive with skirts hemmed just below the knee and loose soft leather trousers. Sounding the finale was Nina Simone’s ‘Feeling Good’, reminding us amid the stage and theatre of it all, that feeling good is what DSquared is all about.
