The CSM graduates brought the best end to a good start on day 1 of LFW. New is always exciting and these MA first-timers are tipped for the top. AW13 did not disappoint as a glittering new wave of talent soared down the runway. The graduates took LC:M’s boys in dresses trend to the next level and notched up kudos with graphic silhouettes and lots of shine. Here’s a quick look at the cream of the crop. Images in order.

1. Eilish Macintosh

The girl who stole the show. Eilish Macintosh secured two spots in the CSM line-up, was presented the L’Oreal Professional Creative Award by Christopher Kane and roped us all in with a pair of top-notch knotted together collections. The first was a string of black, maxi jersey dresses with cheeky cut outs and rope harnesses. The second was a sexy series of hole-punched and glossy PVC pieces in beige and black, sewn together with chunky ropes. We wouldn’t mind getting strung along by this young up and comer.

2. Jaimee McKenna

Jaimee McKenna brought the first splash of colour with girls swamped in Yves Klein blue bouncing and rippling down the runway like Jack in the boxes let loose. Dresses were layered in perfectly pleated knits, like liquid origami, and cut into chunky stretch blocks floating away from the body.

3. Elena Crehan

Boys in fishnets and jumper dresses were the creation of Elena Crehan. This lush crush of textiles was mixed together in a stripy patchwork of glossy black fur, fluorescent yellow lace and delicate fishnets like the most glamorous animals from a gothic fairy-tale. Separate from the other monochrome and minimal menswear, this was definitely a collection that drew eyes and held the attention of the typically hard to please #FROW.

4. Sadie Williams

Sadie Williams is definitely i-D’s current girl crush. Sadie’s space angels, Strawberry Dream, Peppermint Cream and Turkish Delight sashayed down the catwalk like Quality Street’s finest. If those girls wore rollerskates underneath their giant lurex cones they could be icy Dalek princesses. The graduates are without doubt running this show.
