We step off the fashion month conveyor belt for a moment and venture behind the scenes of Neil Barrett’s SS13 campaign and fall in love all over again.

In both spring/summer 13 collections, Neil Barrett revelled in playing with contrasts. Slim versus cocooning, casual versus couture, masculine tailoring versus delicate femininity, the womenswear collection was built on duality. He even made baseball chic. Similarly, his menswear which looked to the world of sports for its inspiration, was full of perfect proportion play, contrasting the shrunken with the oversized and the formal with the informal. Beautifully balanced. Given that we’ve daydreamed ourselves as both Neil Barrett’s SS13 man and woman ever since we saw the shows last year, we couldn’t resist venturing behind the scenes of the Daniel Jackson shot campaign to size up our competition of Jester White and Franzi Mueller. We didn’t measure up but we’re now in love with both. Swoon.
