On the final day of London Fashion Week Anya Hindmarch gave our weary fashion heads a welcome treat. Presenting her autumn/winter 13 bag collection in a circus/magic show like theme that left the most reserved members of press gasping and clapping with joy. On arrival i-D was met with a bright, graphic city landscape of 50000 dominos protected by a ring of security guards. We knew what was in store but didn’t grasp just what the sheer scale of it would be. Refraining from reaching out to play, the lights duly dimmed, there was a countdown and dominoes tumbled to circus themed music and the collection presented itself on emerged platforms triggered by the game pieces plight. It really was a spectacle but the fanfare didn’t distract from the reason we were all gathered together. The bags. They were as colourful, fun and graphic as the means in which they were presented. Clutch bags in particular were modelled on the dominos themselves and the palette was kept bright and airy. It was a truly enjoyable couple of minutes that let a smile on each guest’s face as they emerged back into the sunlight. Look right, press play and feel better.
