As the hungry eyes of the fashion pack were fixed on i-D’s home turf for the sophomore edition of London Collections: Men, the curtain raised on the three day showcase and up stepped Lou Dalton’s heroes carrying a sartorial love letter to the Shetlands. Referencing Bill Forsyth’s classic Local Hero, the collection revelled in its play on the idea of an outsider falling head over boot with the rugged beauty of the surroundings and the warmness of the remote Scottish communities. From the utility and work wear of the men on the rigs to the city boy coming to terms with the the country feel that was explored throughout, the designer delivered a well mixed Toddy and confirmed just why London menswear follows Lou Dalton.
