Famous for not giving a what, Katie Eary’s AW13 collection ‘The blood is the life’ showed a reckless medley of tough, punctuated looks – the designer’s tribute to her imagined world of forbidden pleasures. Her catwalk crew wore fangs, day-glo reds, fuchsia pinks, glitter blues and fronted over-sized tees printed with lobster spaceships and corpse bouquets. Styled by Way Perry, fast flowing scene lyricists School Boy Q and Kendrick Lamar blasted out of the Hospital Club sound system and carried each model down the clean white show space. Hair was slicked back with a wet look finish and Nike ID Air Jordan Spizikes finished each high impact look with a casual edge. Layering neoprene sweats and chiffon detail shirts with over-sized mohair coats, the classic married perfectly with the contemporary, presenting a more considered direction for Katie’s aesthetic.
