“Come on over. We got us a fight going on that’s a good bit of fun.” Dr. King Schultz, Django Unchained.
The January Mixtape drops a Django heavy dose of eclectic beats rounded up from the past few weeks. So JT and Jay Z are back, if nothing else breaks waves in the next 12 months, we are satisfied enough. Number 1 on the iTunes singles chart in over 31 countries, JT has also just confirmed plans to release his third album The 20/20 Experience later this year. The wait is on.
In need of some excitement now though? January is SO dry, Django Unchained is the best way to kill three hours, ever. Ever. Marking Tarantino’s 10th major motion picture, this epic cinematic piece of film history stars Jamie Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio, Christoph Waltz and Samuel L. Jackson with Rick Ross, Tupac, James Brown, Anthony Hamilton and Rebecca Ferguson on the soundtrack. The original director DJ, only Tarantino is capable of curating such an incredible compilation of exclusively commissioned show tunes.
Remembering last Summer with some of Ibiza’s finest closing party anthems, Justin Martin and Will Monotone up the tempo for the mixtape’s electronic segment, joined by Radio 1′s future star of 2013 George Fitzgerald, the prodigal Duke Deaumont and Hot Creations’ freshest signing Human Life. Then Burial, Sweet Baboo and Danai Moore relax the levels and bring this month to an end with a feeling of warmth. The snow sucks, stay inside and just listen to good music. Look right, press play. #hawwwwt.
