The 90s were remembered for several things: Raves, Brit Pop, the Big Breakfast, River Phoenix, and the legendary pulling potion for men, L’Eau D Issey. There wasn’t a shopping centre on a Saturday daytime or a nightclub in the evening that didn’t have a trail of this scent. With all the 90s nostalgia and a certain resurgence it seemed only correct that Issey Miyake should send out a banging havin’ it large collection. Lads in Miyake trackies, bright sweaters and see-through wind cheaters made their way down the catwalk. Long shorts over leggings and bright coloured socks pulled up above the knee gave an exciting twist, however the best was yet to come, when an army of gold and silver heat insulated coats, jackets and ponchos inspired by emergency blankets worn by brave marathon runners stormed the catwalk, surely a must have next time a member of i-D decides to run one. This was foil’s war and Miyake won hands down.
