She’s half Japanese and half Belgian and looks like the lovechild of Devon Aoki and Karlie Kloss, if such a thing could happen. Yumi is one of those girls who knew what she wanted and went for it, walking straight into Dominique Model Agency all willowy limbs and sweet manga cartoon features and came out with a contract and a prosperous future in fashion. Last season we followed her from New York to Milan to Paris to watch her walk in Marc by Marc Jacobs, Giorgio Armani and Dior, and saw her become Karl Lagerfeld’s newest muse in the Chanel campaign, starring alongside Stella Tennant and Ondria Hardin. With a face as porcelain cute and striking as hers we’re sure she’s going to pop up all over the runways come February.
i-D online talked Yohji, manga and love with the Eurasian persuasian.
