The debut show of Craig Green, who presented at the Fashion East installations last season, saw the Central Saint Martins alum enter a darker (and much more wearable) territory than the graduation collection, which first put him on the radar two seasons ago. And from the smallest intricate detail – and there were many – to the huge head gear, Green’s work definitely suits a catwalk. It could have been a scene in a Tim Burton film: dark shadows marching down the catwalk to an unnerving metal track, their faces painted black, in layers and layers of what most resembled the elements of a really dark enchanted forest (this obviously being a good thing). Green added a sort of nostalgic gloom to the party, which once characterised big parts of London fashion but seems to have been forgotten. It was a welcome return.
