The compelling voice of British actor Joseph Mawle added a dramatic dimension to Monday’s C.P. Company presentation, which marked the debut collection of an extended creative team, which now includes stylists Alessandro Pungetti and Paul Harvey. Drawing on their Italian-English constellation, they based the autumn/winter 13 collection on Anglo-Saxon outerwear as seen through the eyes of Italy. “We wanted to take the original idea of CP Company – very traditional 1980s – and interpret it in an Italian way,” Harvey told i-D after Mawle’s transfixing narration on ‘Heroes, Greatness, Beauty and Myth’. “We thought of images like a scarlet Ferrari driving through the highlands,” he said of the collection, which fused C.P. Company’s classic Italian sportswear spirit with something as English as Aran knits and Scottish Shetland gabardine, the latter used impeccably in a green wool blazer.
