i-Society: BAPE®’s Birthday Party

Ten years ago Japanese streetwear brand BAPE® opened an outlet in London. On Tuesday the crew behind the cult clothing label celebrated becoming a decade old, with Joey Bada$$.

Mark Ronson, Semtex, Alison Mosshart, Jamie Reynolds, Carri Casette Playa and Alfie Allen all scaled the steep staircase, hidden behind a black door, located just off Kingsland Road to enter The Alibi for A Bathing Ape®’s birthday party earlier this week. Booking 17-year-old Brooklyn born hip hop artist Bada$$ to entertain a select crowd of Bape friends and family, a heavy army of hypebeasts then descended to catch a rare and intimate performance from the pint sized, entirely BAPE® clad badman. Raising a glass to the epic success of label founder NIGO®’s self built empire, Seb Chew and Leo Greenslade joined bearded legend Fabio Busy Workshop behind the booth for a high NRG all nighter that got hot and stayed sweaty until the free bar ran dry and dawn drew closer. i-D online watched the whole thing play out and caught stills with the best looking boys in the building, look right to see who came and what went down.
