Model, mother and Muse in more ways than one, 24-year-old Arizona has achieved what most women leave a lifetime to reach, and makes a perfect face for the cover of The Wise Up Issue.

Born and raised in her namesake, Arizona Muse slipped onto the fashion radar as a long-haired blonde bombshell; 18 years old, fresh-faced and all-American, but hit the big-time when she chopped off her locks, dyed the rest brunette and returned to the scene two years later with a new look, unrivalled ambition and a baby boy; her son, Nikko. After a year and a half sabbatical from modelling, Arizona stormed the runways, fronted campaigns and posed for covers with a serious determination that hasn’t disappointed. She’s been shot by Hedi Slimane, Patrick Demarchelier, Inez and Vinoodh, Steven Meisel and Karl Lagerfeld for the covers of Vogue Paris, Vogue Italia, British Vogue, Self Service, Numero and of course i-D (twice!) as well as opening Prada, Miu Miu, Kenzo, Rochas, Preen, Fendi, Isabel Marant, and becoming the face of Saint Laurent, Estee Lauder, Louis Vuitton, names, names, names darling! And the list goes on, but it’s not only down to coquettish features, gazelle-like limbs and strong eyebrows that Arizona Muse is one to watch, she’s as smart and well-mannered as she is beautiful and not having gathered enough pearls of wisdom from The Wise Up Issue, i-D online peek into Miss Muse’s world behind the fashion front to find out what makes her tick.
What’s the best thing about your job? Time travelling! Let me explain. When you leave Asia and fly in the right direction you technically land in LA before the time you left Asia. Pretty cooooool.
If you weren’t modelling what would you be doing? I used to want to be an architect. Lots of my grandfathers/great grandfathers were architects.
What’s your beauty secret? Always remove makeup before you go to sleep and apply a light moisturiser.
What made you cut and dye your hair? Wanted a change. Glad I did it and I’m equally as glad it’s now grown back into my bob.
What’s your favourite thing to do with your son? Lie in bed together and chat before bedtime. It’s really funny to get a 3-year-old still like that, lying down, no distractions, just words, he says the most amazing and hilarious things… Often about tractors lol.
Do you have any advice for new models? Stand up for yourself.
What was it like shooting with Richard and Sarah for i-D? I adore them both. They’ve been so so kind to me always. I have deep appreciation for them.
What are your hopes for the future?…..Acting!
