Against a vast digital screen projection of psychedelic jungle graphics, Humberto Leon and Carol Lim unveiled their totally tropical SS13 collection. Models appeared in belted khaki safari suits and utility inspired trench coats; digitised exotic foliage prints (inspired by the jungle, viewed through night vision goggles); in off-the-shoulder khaki dresses with pared down volume; in surreally synthetic orange and green leopard print and in those (now ubiquitous) trademark tiger jumpers. This time the Kenzo tiger prowled amongst graphic leaf prints, playing hide and seek on safari suits, and embroidered onto covetable sweatshirts and on denim all-in-ones. In short; a 70′s jungle trek never looked so urban or so chic! The transformation of the Kenzo brand has been monumental since Leon and Lim’s arrival four seasons ago, bringing with them a whole new fan-base, vibrant energy and optimistic youthful spirit.
