Rolling her way around the world, it’s the colourful streets of East London that Maria calls home; her own personal skate playground. Maria’s ethos of making work play pushed her to start COPSON ST., a blog and core clothing line, through which her creative mind is let loose on a variety of projects. This week her collaborative show ‘Anywhere Road’ opens to the public, a girls skate photography exhibition and event which aims to showcase all the inspirational people she has met around the skate world and the moments snapped on the way. Partnering with Huck Magazine, Maria is ready to show the world what girls skateboarding is all about.

Here, she teams up with filmmaker Rowan Biddiscombe for a roll at Quaker Street bowl and a skate down a not-so-secret East London street…

Stance? Goofy
Where are your favourite skate spots? Cliché but nothing beats MACBA square in Barcelona for the social skate chill. Here in London – Mile end and Clissolds Bowls.
Favourite skater? Brent Atchley kills me. Those wobbly knees.
Favourite trick to pull? Fakie full cab over a hip… poppy
Park or street? In the UK park for sure, but for the cruise factor… street.
Typical skate day? Buy a can of fizzy pop / sweets then bike ride to mile end along the canal. Have a lil session with some friends.. then cycle to my local for a mango beer.
Usual skate set up? Note board, venture trucks, rockstar bearings.
What’s in your pocket right now? Actually nothing.
What have you got planned for 2012? 2012 has been BIG so far. Done lots of travelling and have learnt loads of life skills. COPSON ST, a blog and label I founded a few years back has really boomed, so lots going on with that. One of the highlights is putting together Anywhere Road – an exhibition which launches on 25th October in East London. The idea is to give an insight into the global female skateboard community, and how much creativity lies within it. It’s been amazing to get a group of friends together from around the world, to showcase our inspirational ‘bubble.’
Where are you off to now? Next up… Asia for some more learning, and supersize skate parks.

Maria is sponsored by Nikita and Rockstar bearings. She wears Jumper COPSON ST. Jacket NIKITA. Shoes Vans.
