Blonde-haired, blue-eyed and with that enviable Brazilian bone-structure, 21-year-old, 6’1″ Pedro Bertolini has definitely got what a girl wants.

From Brazil to Brooklyn and straight out of high school, Pedro gave up Bauru for the Big Apple, skating his way into teenage hearts and onto the pages of high-fashion mags. Barbara Anastacio captures the boyish enthusiasm and kick-flipping tricks from this young looker, while i-D online stop him in his tracks to fire over a few questions on life, love and playground memories.
Where abouts in Brazil did you grow up? What’s it like there? I grew up in Bauru, a city four hours from Sao Paulo by car. It’s a middle sized town… calm, everybody kind of knows each other. Where do you live now? What’s is like there? Right now, I’m living in New York City, in Brooklyn. I really enjoy living here, it’s a nice neighbourhood! How were you scouted? I got scouted one day when I was walking around in my city’s shopping mall. What’s your earliest memory? I think it was playing with my friends at a playground at my school. Playing on the sand, running around. When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up? The first thing I wanted to be was an astronaut, then later I wanted to be a football player, like every other Brazilian kid. What’s the best thing about being young today? I have a lot of energy to travel all over the world, a lot of energy to work hard, a lot of energy to enjoy my life to the maximum. Are you in love? Yes, I’m in love! What do you think when you look in the mirror? Wow, tough one! Well I guess I think: how can I improve to be better at my job! What you up to this weekend? I don’t know yet! Probably going to end up hanging out with my roommates and going skating!
