Ginger and Rosa

Hollywood’s hottest starlets Elle Fanning and Alice Englert portray two troubled tweens caught between the thrill of Swinging Sixties London and the bigger picture, in new flick Ginger and Rosa.

Directed by Sally Potter, of Yes and Orlando fame, Ginger and Rosa is a sincere coming-of-age story about two young girls growing up in Cold War London. As the dark cloud of the Hiroshima bomb dissipates, the fear of global destruction sets in, and co-stars Elle and Alice find themselves torn between the fight to save the world and the excitement of the swinging pop culture explosion of the 1960s. As the tension mounts, the personal lives of the complex protagonists begin to break apart, a drama that reflects the global crisis while remaining intimate, shocking and poignant under Potter’s realist lens. With truly inspiring performances from Elle and Alice, we caught up with the beautiful pair in their glitzy Mayfair hotel.

Ginger and Rosa is in UK cinemas now.
