The A.P.C. girl will be keeping cool and feeling blue for spring/summer 13 in a collection constructed entirely from azure shades. In keeping with the less-is-more ethos of the brand and unperturbed by the allure of a glamorous fashion week, Touitou kept it simple and opted for a low-key presentation, during which he himself narrated the thinking behind the designs, whilst making use of the casual lean against a conveniently placed pillar. Looking like they’d walked straight out of a French magazine from the beginning of the 70s, models stood sultrily in double denim with pin-up curls and casual flats looking effortlessly sexy – exactly as Touitou meant it to be. Inspired by the “sexiness of the German nanny”, he explained, it’s an appeal that is unbeknown to her, “she doesn’t mean it.” Vanessa Seward-printed jumpsuits, cute playsuits and understated halter-necks kept to the typically modest style of the brand. Another refreshing collection of simple ideas for today’s non-stop generation, from the geniuses at A.P.C.
