Simone Rocha was right on cue with the back-to-school look but without any of that end-of summer sentiment. Inspired by Ed Templeton’s ‘Teenage Kissers‘, girls with messy ponies and awkward fringes strolled down the catwalk in cute cut-out dresses with high necks and collars. Schoolgirl naivety shone through with knee-length skirts and floral motifs, whilst an added sense of innocence came from halo-headbands, but Rocha added that Templeton touch of rebelliousness with sheer panels and flashes of skin showing through embroidered organza and cut-out patent leather. With a milky white, black and metallic palette the collection started off looking clean-cut and clinical but her trademark floating brogues soon made a turn for the fluorescent and 26-year-old Simone didn’t stop there. Ending on a fully highlighter-orange outfit, the young designer was giving us the sweet taste of a bright SS13.
