Based on the the brand’s 1950s Sweater Girls, Pringle of Scotland produced a gentle and elegant collection for SS13. Knitted T-shirts and dresses came in powderpuff pink, shades of mint and the most summery of lemons. Silhouettes echoed the mood, nipped in at the waist, giving a real sense of summertime chic. Twinsets with metallic panelling added a very modern touch, as did the palette, which slowly developed into stronger colours like green and raspberry. The models were styled with brilliant minimalism – a red lip and a classic pastel stiletto – meaning the looks were uninterrupted. Pringle also practiced the wonderfully successful colour blocking formula to great effect. This was a strong exhibition of Pringle of Scotland’s ability to produce the most luxurious of knitwear.
