For spring/summer 13, colour king Paul Smith laid bright block reds, yellows, pinks and greens on shirts, lady-suits and loose-fitting panelled dresses, cut asymmetrically, horizontally and vertically. The cut-up red rose print that dominated the menswear collection in June, was applied in clean strips and neat cuts on shirts. Smith switched things up with an occasional lace insert and leather/silk hybrid fabric, which stood out most on a steel blue suit plus yellow collar and white lapel, worn by i-D coverstar Lara Mullen. Contrasting colour and print in the way only he can, this collection was pure elegance, no drama.
