Margaret Howell proved once more that she is the queen of effortless chic with a crisp summer collection that left her audience daydreaming of sunnier shores. With pert cotton berets perched atop their heads, Margaret’s models ambled serenely down the runway, with their hands in their pockets, and a dreamy far away look in their eyes. The go to label for stripped back elegance, Margaret lives by the mantra that less is more and when garments are as beautifully constructed as these it’s easy to see why. Favourite pieces in the collection include the crisp white cotton shirt dresses (could you ask for a more perfect shirt dress?), the grey linen suit jacket and shorts and a divine navy blue suit, cut low at the chest and loose on the leg. Dungarees made an appearance twice, one in a full leg and the second time as a pair of shorts, proving that a little of something good really does go a very long way.
